History

Wat Chana Songkhram This is an ancient temple from the Ayutthaya period, but there is no evidence of its origin, and it was once called “Wat Klang Na” because there was a vast paddy field around the temple. He renovated the entire monastery. He changed the name of the temple to ‘Wat Tongpu’. Later, after his three victories in the Burmese War, starting with the Nine Armies War of 1785, the Tadindane-Samsop War of 1786, and the Pasannakorn Lampang War of 1787, King Rama I gave the temple a new name. rice field. It used to be ‘Wat Chai Chana Songkhram’, but was later shortened to ‘Wat Chana Songkhram’ and became its current name. During the reign of King Rama VI, on the royal initiative of King Chulalongkorn, the royal ashes relic of Bowan Satan Mongkol Palace was erected at the back entrance of Ubosot. Upon completion, a ceremony was held to bring Bowon’s relics to the Satan Mongkol Palace, where it will be enshrined in 2470.

Architectural

Wat Chana Songkhram has Ubosot as the main temple of the temple. Building of traditional Thai style to be seen everywhere. But what is interesting about this temple is that while like many temples the pediment is decorated with an image of Vishnu carrying Garuda, the Chanasongkhram temple also added a window below the image of Vishnu carrying Garuda. That’s it. But it’s unclear why you need to do this. Another interesting feature of this temple is the pediment frame. Most Temple has a frightened Naga in his frame. Curve the gable frame, but the thing here surprised and cut Naga. Therefore, one of the important characteristics of Omote Gosho craft architecture seen in the temples and palaces built by Omote Gotenushi is that it has a long, uncurved framework like the gable of a typical house.

Ubosot has a large Buddha statue in a submissive mara position as president of the building, measuring 2.50 meters wide and 3.50 meters high, surrounded by 15 smaller Buddha statues, a total of 16 Buddha statues. Phra Phuttha Norasi Trilokachet Mahetisak Puchaneeyachayatakodom the Great Prophet or what the villagers commonly call ‘Luang Pho Phu’, this image is the original main his image from the time of Wat Phrai his Na. Legend has it that before Somdej Phra Boronchao Maha Surasinghanat went into battle, he paid homage to this Buddha statue and won every time, so it is considered a very sacred and important statue

And also they have many frescoes, most of which are stories of Buddha. All of these works are new and less than 100 years old.
