History

Pathumwanaram temple is built by king rama V to bestowed for princess angel called Princess Sirindhorn Debaratanasuda Kitivadhanadulsobhak. Originally, this area was a park with a large lotus pond that was excavated by King Rama IV. That lotus pond was “Sa Pathum”, hence the name of the temple “Pathum Wanaram”, “Pathumwan” district and “Sa Palace”.  Pathum” Since entering the temple arch, we can see many lotus flowers at various points, be it on the pillars, on the pediment, or even in the murals showing lotuses and lotus ponds.

Father Phra Sai

The Story of walls

The egret in the pond, which is a dharma mystery in the Tipitaka that tells the story of Mrs. Suchada, Makhamanop's wife which has become one of Indra in heaven with 3 other wives who make merit together. While Suchada saw her husband make merit, so she accept to not do meit together. Therefore, she become born as a egret instead.
